Weaving Installation at St. Cuthbert's URC Centre, Holy Island

I’m privileged to be filling this spiritual and peaceful space on the Island of Lindisfarne with stitching and weaves as I become artist in residence at St. Cuthbert’s for the week. I’m planning to revisit “Illuminating the Shadows” which was a reflection I created during the first 3 years following the death of my husband in 2011. I’m adding some new reflections on the theme of transformation in the wake of loss. The aim is to be authentic and hopeful. There will be opportunities to weave for all ages.

I’ll be outside in my purple gazebo so please come along to say hello and have a go on one of my looms.

I will also be running a landscape weave workshop which you book onto on the Wool@J13 website.

December 2020 Workshops (Covid Secure)

My Christmas Workshops in the cafe had to be cancelled but can take place on a smaller scale in the studio with individuals/household/bubble. As well as the usual workshops that are listed on the workshop page I can offer the Pop Up Loom Workshop during which you would weave creatively on a table loom to create a wall hanging or mat. The loom is yours to take with you to use again. All my workshops are for all ages and abilities - you don’t need any previous weaving experience.

Pop Up Loom Workshop - 2 hours £40 includes all materials and you keep the loom to use again.

Please get in touch with Ruth if you would like to book a workshop.
